Stampin' Up! Card Ideas from Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Sandi MacIver

Acorny Thank You for Mimeograph Monday and More

Hi stampers, my share today is Acorny Thank you for Mimeograph Monday and More.

What is Mimeograph Monday you ask?  It’s a fun program that Diana Gibbs, friend (also Canadian) and fellow Stampin Up Demonstrator in Arizona started a while ago.  When she asked me to join her I was so excited and jumped at the chance.  So Welcome to our New “Over the Border” Mimeograph Monday.

We chose the Acorny Cards on Page 37 of the Annual Catalogue, and Mimeograph means I copy it, or in the stamping world, we call it CAS (casing)…  Then we decided to step it up a bit, and do an over the top version as well – hence the & More!

Here is my mimeograph version, it’s exactly the same as the picture in the catalogue.  I love the colours that the Stampin Up artist chose for the card.

Below is a video taking you through each step of creating the card.  If you are reading this post in an e-mail, you may need to click on the post title to come to my blog to view the video.

Watch to the end of the video for the “Stepped Up” version and then the “Over the Top” version.

To step it up just a little, I added some twigs and branches from the Pretty Pines Thinlits in Kraft and Wild Wasabi.

and then for my crazy “Over the Top” version, I switched stamp sets to “Hang your Stocking” for two reasons:

It’s on sale this month as part of the Stitched from the Heart Promotion and, I thought the colours would make adorable Stockings.

Hang Your Stocking Stamp Set #142114 On Sale for 25% off (for the month)

Christmas Stockings Thinlits #141841 On Sale for 30% off (this week only)

Wow – way over the top right?  I combined the Hang your Stocking Bundle with the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies to create this one along with changing the background Embossing Folder to Holly.

The card details are all on the video, and I have a supply list at the end of this post for you.

Don’t forget to click below to visit Diana’s Blog to see what she did with the cards this week too and if you live in the USA – you can place your Stampin Up order for today’s projects through her.  If you live in Canada – I can help you with that.

Catching up on blog hopping after staying off the computer this weekend 🙂 Love your cards – the over the top stocking card is beautiful!! Love the color combo too, so pretty together 🙂 Two of those are my happy colors, and sweet sugarplum is the perfect shade of purple-pink to coordinate. Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
