Stampin' Up! Card Ideas from Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Sandi MacIver

Rectangle Card in a Box with Basket Bunch

Today I have a super fun share for you:

Rectangle Card in a Box with Basket Bunch.

On Thursday I hosted a team meeting for some new members who took advantage of the awesome Sign Up Special during Sale-a-bration.  After we had  our business talk and Q & A, we had some stamping fun and we created these adorable card in a box projects.

I’m very excited to share this with you, WHY?  Because I have reworked the pattern so that you can cut the entire card base from one piece of 8-1/2 x 11 card stock instead of 12 x 12 card stock.

Rectangle Card in a Box with Basket Bunch by Sandi @ stampinwithsandi.com

Stampin Up no longer sells big packages of single colour 12 x 12 card stock other than Basic Black and Whisper White which you can find on page 175 of the Annual Catalogue.

They are now sold in a colour family, 2 pieces each of 10 colours.  Which is great unless you want to do a big class, ha-ha….hence the reworking of the pattern.

Then I was itching to use this new stamp/Die bundle BASKET BUNCH – page 18 of the Occasions catalogue…..little bunnies and eggs, so stinking cute!

Basket Bunch bundle

Just in time for some Easter stamping fun, this bundle has it all.  Bunnies, a basket, eggs, flowers, even little chicks.

I taped a video this morning for the Rectangle Card in a Box with Basket Bunch card.  It takes you step by step through how to create this adorable little box.  I hope you will enjoy it.  If you are reading this in an e-mail – you may need to Click Here to visit my blog to view the video

.

Members of my team who signed up for the meeting received a precut kit for this adorable project which they were overjoyed with (wait till you see all the pieces) ha-ha…and as promised in the video, here are the cutting instructions:

NOTE – I also give you some tips in the video to help speed up the cutting:

Box Base with tabs and inside cross bars:

  • Bermuda Bay:  4 x 6 – scored – landscape at 2 and 5-1/2 and portrait at 2″  (two pieces)- Box
  • Bermuda Bay:  1 x 5 – score each end at 3/4″ (two pieces) – cross bar

Inside Top Back – Sky:

  • Daffodil Delight: 1-3/4 x 3-1/4 – mat (1 piece)
  • Cupcakes & Carousels DSP: 1-5/8 x 3-1/8 (1 piece)
  • pick the designer paper that looks like swirly clouds

Sides  – Inside top of box: (same DSP as the front)

  • Daffodil Delight  1-3/4 square – mat (2 pieces)
  • Cupcakes & Carousels DSP 1-5/8 square – (2 pieces)

Front – Inside top of Box: (same DSP as the sides)

  • Daffodil Delight 1-3/4 x 3-1/4 – mat (1 piece)
  • Cupcakes & Carousels DSP:  1-5/8 x 3-1/8 (1 piece)

Phew – lots of cutting, but well worth it and you can completely decorate the inside and outside of one of these with two pieces of the 6 x 6 paper stack designer paper – Sweet right!…

I have so many favorites in the catalog! I guess today I would say Nailed It is my favorite because I have been organizing in my scrapbook room and I am really missing my father-in-law. He passed away a year ago. He could literally build anything…and I mean anything! He built my childrens’ bedroom furniture and shelves, tables, etc. for me. I could really use some shelving in my room to hold these new stamp sets! lol

Sandi, this rectangle card-in-a-box is wonderful – and thanks for figuring out the measurements for 8.5×11 paper. It has all sorts of possibilities to be adapted for any occasion! I can hardly wait to try one:) Thanks for the chance to win some “candy” – my fav stamp set in the occasions catty is “Balloon Adventures” – it seems I am always making b-day cards and I love the different fonts on the sentiments!!

  30. March 5, 2017

There are so many great sets this time, but I’m partial to the Hey Chick set since I love chickens! We’v always had chickens and they each had their own personalities (of course they all had names!), but no matter what we did, the predators always won and it’s just too much heartbreak to have them anymore. ~~~Happy Birthday!
